Overview

Yulla Kanda sits at about 3,895 m in Kinnaur, and its temple in the middle of a lake is often called the highest Krishna temple in the world. Stay a night in Tapri, trek about 10 km from Yulla village to base camp, sleep in tents under the stars, and climb to the lake at sunrise. Day-by-day itinerary

  1. 1Day 1Delhi departure (overnight)

    Meet the group and your trip captain at the Delhi pickup point and leave at around 7:30 PM, travelling overnight towards Kinnaur.

  2. 2Day 2Arrive in Tapri

    Reach Tapri in the morning. Check in, freshen up and rest: a slow day helps you adjust to the mountains. Explore the nearby area in the evening, then dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

  3. 3Day 3Yulla village to base camp

    After breakfast, drive to Yulla village and trek about 10 km (4 to 6 hours) to base camp, with a packed lunch on the way. Dinner at camp and a night in tents under the stars.

  4. 4Day 4Yulla Kanda and the return journey

    Wake early for sunrise over the peaks, then trek up to Yulla Kanda and spend time at the Krishna temple in the lake. Trek down to Yulla village with lunch on the way, drive back to Tapri to freshen up and leave for Delhi in the evening, arriving the next morning.
